| In meeting the demands of work and every day life, many of us can feel compelled to do all things at once, and may become overwhelmed or less effective as a result. To counter this, it is worth taking a moment to adjust our pace; to give ourselves the space to practice taking one step at a time in the ways we perform our tasks and how we manage our minds & emotions. | | Single-Tasking for Productivity and Stress Management I used to be a big fan of multi-tasking when it became a popular strategy for productivity. The idea of doubling productivity by doing multiple things at once is quite appealing for busy people, and these days most of us are busy people. However, several studies show that in most cases, multi-tasking can negatively affect productivity and efficiency. Here's how. | | Four Reasons to Cultivate Patience Patience is essential to daily life—and might be key to a happy one. Having patience means being able to wait calmly in the face of frustration or adversity, so anywhere there is frustration or adversity—i.e., nearly everywhere—we have the opportunity to practice it. | | What multitasking does to your brain | BBC Ideas | | Proudly Brought to You I seek to reach out to people who believe in safeguarding the interests of their loved ones. GIC Laura was introduced to me in 2002, not long after I had just started working. Over the years, she has maintained close contact with me and has been regularly updating me and my family in our financial planning journey.
Of all the Financial Consultants I have met, Laura has been the most conscientious and comprehensive in her financial planning strategies. With her competent advice over the years, I have been able to comfortably plan for my family's protection as well as our wealth accumulation needs. At the same time, as Laura is a certified Estate Planner, she has also helped me in the area of legacy and estate planning.
Getting a trusted consultant who looks out for you is important. I am thankful that I have not just found a trusted financial consultant, but also a good friend who has seen me through the different stages of my life. | | | | Eugene & Cheryl Teng. Aunty Laura (we call her aunty because she has been helping us since we were kids) has been providing financial advice for our entire family for close to 20 years!
She has been very supportive of us and with changes to the economy, have helped us adapt our financial situation accordingly as well.
Thanks Aunty Laura for all your help, providing us with a headstart as compared to the other kids my age. Of course I have to thank my mum for investing in us, but due to Aunty Laura's help, my sister and I have been able to be covered comprehensively since we were young, which many kids in Singapore do not have the luxury to do so.
Onwards another 20 years!😄

Auntie Laura has been my mum's insurance agent since I was young and have seen me grew up from a child to an adult. I witness how she has help my mum handled her finances and also health insurances, to ensure that we are all well covered. Now that I have grown up, I have also entrust my financial and health insurance portfolio with Auntie Laura. She would provide relevant advises and coverage that I should get and would explain in detail each plan purposes. Her patient and bubbly character makes it easy to approach whenever I have queries for my plans and making the exchange a stress-free and comfortable setting. 🙂

As such, I decided that she would make a good financial advisor. She was very attentive and understood my needs. She is very knowledgeable in financial planning and gives sound advice.
With Laura as my financial advisor, I know that I am in good hands! Thanks to Laura, I feel more assured of my retirement plans and I’m definitely more covered medically! | | | | Aik Teng, Sports Development Manager. Sport Singapore What sets Laura apart from other financial consultants is her genuine care and personal approach. She doesn’t begin with products — she starts by truly understanding my needs, goals, and spending habits. Her advice is always thoughtful and tailored, never transactional.
What makes Laura exceptional goes far beyond financial planning. She has walked with me through some of the most challenging moments in my life —one financial crisis, and 2 medical emergencies within the last 15+ years. Her quiet presence and strength gave me emotional grounding and practical support, especially when I was overwhelmed with uncertainty.
I’m incredibly grateful for Laura’s consistent care, deep expertise, and unwavering support. Even when overseas, she goes the extra mile — like the time she called a dentist friend from Chicago to help with a dental emergency I was panicking over!
If you’re looking for a financial consultant who truly cares, listens deeply, and stands by you beyond the numbers — I wholeheartedly recommend reaching out to Laura. You’ll be in very good hands. | | | | Gerard Tong . Director, Epitrain Pte Ltd Adjunct Professor. SMU, NUS Let me start by saying I am not an easy person to deal with. I am impatient, opinionated and stubborn.
The fact that Laura has been servicing me since 2004, and is the only Financial Advisor whom I have bothered to speak more than 5 words to, speaks volumes of her approach, presentation and knowledge.
From the start, I made it clear that as a (now retired) financial market professional, I was not interested to hear about investment-linked policies, believing that I could do a better job that the fund managers. Laura kept that in mind, and respected that, occasionally making a passing recommendation on a fund she felt was really worth looking at, but immediately putting that aside as soon as I impatiently gave her a dismissive wave. Instead, she focused on building up a portfolio of policies which covered other critical areas, such as death, sickness, mortgage protection and such. Never over-selling, she would not push more coverage than was required to me.
Not the sort of insurance agent to close a deal, collect their commission and forget the client, Laura readily advised and assisted with claims, and consistently checked up on my situation in life, personal and financial to review my coverage, even advising me on my plans to scale back as my coverage requirements shrank with age.
Just this month, after identifying that I was losing interest in managing my own money, but still wanting superior returns, she sold me a bond fund policy, after years of watching my dismissive hand. It shows great professionalism, keeping mum about investment-linked policies all these years, but always keeping a look out for changes in my life state, and bringing it up again when it has become appropriate.
If you’re looking for a professional, competent, reliable Financial Advisor (in truth, we all NEED one, even if we have not realised it yet), who genuinely cares about you, then look no further.
| | | | Jennifer Chua I’ve been with Laura for more than a decade, and my experience with her has always been reassuring and positive. She is consistent, patient, and someone I know I can rely on whenever I need clarity or support.
What makes her different from other financial consultants is her sincerity and the way she explains things in a simple, transparent manner. She never rushes through discussions and always puts my needs first.
I chose Laura because I trust her. She has been steady throughout different stages of my life, and her advice has always been thoughtful and timely.
One memorable moment that stands out for me is how she supported me during a major life transition when I fell sick. Thanks to her encouragement to enhance my critical illness coverage earlier on, the policy came in at the right time—just a year later—when I needed it most. She checked in, guided me patiently through the process, and made everything so much easier during a very difficult period. | | | | |
